Year 5 Basketball

On Wednesday 10th February all of Year 5 took part in a Basketball Festival at Handy Cross Sports Centre. We have been learning how to play basketball with coach Jenner. At the Festival we were put into 6 teams. One team, Downley 3, consisted of Tyler, Thomas P, Aislynn, Katherine, Caoilin, George, Nathan, Josh P and Daniel. Two other schools took part - Tylers Green and Cedar Park. We played 3 rounds with 2 matches in each round. At the end, it was results time and in 3rd place it was Cedar Park1, 2nd place Tylers Green 1 and in first place Downley 3.

We all had to shake hands with coach Jenner.

We all had a brilliant time.

Haiti Earthquake appeal

Today we have raised a fantastic £482.67 with the children's Bring and Buy Sale.

New Baby

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs McCormack on the safe arrival of Kirsty Anne-Marie on 19th February.

Book Week

Everyone enjoyed Book Week. The theme was Picture Books and the children were involved in making puppets, story boards and picture books.
