Superheroes at Downley!

Hundreds of superheroes descended on The Downley School to help raise money for Children in Need!  We were joined by many famous superheroes and also many we hadn’t met before including some very lively and energetic ‘Super TA’s ‘ (who were a bit naughty racing around the school on their scooters! They got told off by Superman).  Everyone did a fantastic job, raising £1,087 in total!

Click here to see a small gallery – keep watching for the gallery to grow as more pictures of superheroes appear over the next week!

The children had learned about the wonderful work of Children in Need (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b008dk4b) in assemblies and their lessons during the week.

They watched films of children experiencing difficulties and challenges in their lives and how they are helped by the work of the charity. We all thought about how lucky we are. See below to look at the Monday assembly.

We also raised £290 to help towards sending aid to the people of the Philippines who have suffered terrible losses because of Typhoon Haiyan.

Thank you to everyone who helped to raise money for people who really need our help.
