Reception - Butterfly World

Reception Visit to Butterfly World - July 2014

“Feelers out, what’s about?!”

We spent a beautiful sunny day at Butterfly World in St Albans. We learnt all about butterflies, ant colonies and lots of other minibeasts…we even got to hold some!

We enjoyed the Butterfly House, especially when they landed on us. We liked looking at the different colours and patterns on the butterflies’ wings. Our favourite was the Owl butterfly. We also had the opportunity to explore lots of different themed gardens, where we spotted some minibeasts in their natural habitat.

After lunch we explored the Wildflower Meadow and the Proboscis Walk, which led to a giant globe and an even bigger leaf cutter ant!

We finished our day by testing our physical skills at the Adventure Playground!

We had lots of fun on our day and are now minibeast experts!
