Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to The Downley School, also fondly known as TDS.

Our website is here to give you a flavour of our school, but it can't replace a visit! If you are interested in finding out more about the school please do phone or email us to make an appointment. Much has changed in the last few years and we are proud of the journey we have travelled. 

It is my honour and privilege to lead the pupils, staff and community of TDS.  We are all incredibly proud of how our school is progressing and as headteacher, I am determined to build on the successes we have made over recent years, to ensure the best possible education for our children. 

The first time that I came to TDS, I could tell that it was a wonderful place to be and since joining the team in April 2023 I have seen the strength of community grow and relationships strengthen. TDS is a diverse school with a BIG heart. The staff are committed and all work incredibly hard to give children the best opportunities available and we are genuinely excited by the future for the school. Here at TDS, we pride ourselves on celebrating each child's unique potential and develop happy, well-rounded children with a love for learning, underpinned by our values: Teamwork, Inclusion, Resilience, Respect, Responsibility and Integrity. 

The best way to appreciate TDS is to come and see us. People are always amazed when they see the outdoor space and other facilities that our children are lucky enough to have. The website can give you more information about our school and curriculum, but the full experience begins when you step through the doors. Please come and speak to our staff and children, and we will answer any questions you may have.
