Your child can qualify for a grammar school place at WHS or JHGS with a standardised score between 113 and 120 in the Secondary Transfer Test, provided you can supply the necessary evidence confirming their status as belonging to one of the categories listed above. If your child meets this entry criteria, and your preference is for WHS (for your daughter) or JHGS (for your son), you should state this preference as your first choice in your secondary school application form to your home local authority.
It is essential to ensure that any relevant documentation supporting your child's eligibility is ready and submitted with your application. If you require any further clarification or support regarding this process, please do not hesitate to contact the admissions team at the respective schools:
• Wycombe High School - admissions@whs.bucks.sch.uk
• John Hampden Grammar School - admissions@jhgs.bucks.sch.uk
We strongly recommend that you have read and understood the admissions policies for all schools you are considering for your child. We understand that this period can be both exciting and anxious for families, and we are here to assist you in navigating this important step in your child’s educational journey.
Kind regards
Mrs N Renyard - Headteacher and Mr O Jones - Headteacher
