“Learning, Growing and Succeeding Together”

Book Week 2013

Year 5 really enjoyed Book Week.  We had the opportunity to read a new book, Voices in the Park by Anthony Browne, in depth and partipate in lots of fun activities based around this book.  We looked at the use of colour to show emotion in the illustrations and then replicated our own picture showing a feeling by using specific colours.  We also sketched the school environment adding in surrealist detail as Anthony Browne did in his book. Anthony Browne wrote this story from four different points of view and we wrote a story in this style called Voices at the Bonfire.  We had a visit from a poet who taught us how to start our stories in exciting ways and on Friday we dressed up as a book character.  We had a fantastic time and learnt a lot.  Take a look at our photos in our Book Week gallery or follow the link below.
