HWDSFA Under 11 Girls Football Tournament
On Wednesday 7th October our girls took part in the above tournament. We emerged victorious, winning games against Ash Hill, Burford, Manor Farm and St. Teresa's. In the final we played Spinfield School and after extra time and penalties scores were level so it was decided the trophy would be shared and both teams declared winners. We now go forward to represent the District at the County Finals to be held in Beaconsfield on 14th November. A big thank you to parents for their support.
Buckinghamshire County SFA Girls Finals
On Saturday 14th November the girls represented High Wycombe in the Buckinghamshire County Finals.
Our first match was against Great Missenden School and despite really muddy conditions we quickly got into our stride and won by 3-0. We were equally successful in our second game against Cuddington School winning by 6-0. As winners of our group we now moved into the semi finalswhere we met Stoke Poges School. We led 2-0 at half time but Stoke Poges came back strongly in the second half and levelled the scoret 2-2. The game went into extra time and we scored a fabulous goal to win the game 3-2.
In the final we played Bedgrove School from Aylesbury. From the kick off we showed great determination and built a solid lead scoring 4 goals in the first half. We continued to press in the second half and extended our lead to win by 5 goals to nil.
So for the second year running the girls were crowned champions of Buckinghamshire and now go through to the Regional Finals to be played in March in Greenwich, London.
A big well done to the whole squad who all played so well throughout the competition.
ESFA Regional Finals at Sporting Thamesmead, Greenwich.
On Thursday 10th March the girls football team represented Buckinghamshire as county champions in the Regional Finals. We were in a group which included the champions of Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire. The girls played exceptionally well and grew in confidence with every game. We lost our first two games, drew our third game and won our final game to finish third equal in our group. Both our goals were scored by Charlotte H but the whole squad deserve special praise for their fantastic efforts throughout the tournament. A big thank you to Mrs Lane and Mr Rutland for their support on our memorable day at the finals.
