Nominee of the Month!

Everyone in the school is invited to nominate a person who they consider to be a model of one or more of our values.

Robert

who was nominated by members of his class for showing

COURAGE

He was nominated by Libby and Farah for showing the school value of Courage. Robert has shown Courage by wearing a dress for the Year 6 “The Boy in the Dress” film. As part of his role he has had to walk around school in the outfit with Confidence and has needed to show Courage when learning and performing all of his lines for the film.

Courage is so important in life and that will help Robert greatly at The Downley School and in the future.

We are all very proud of Robert for demonstrating the important Value of Courage.

Jack

who was nominated by his whole class for showing

RESPECT, CONSIDERATION and PATIENCE

Jack was nominated by his class for showing the school values of Respect, Consideration and Patience. He has shown these values through his wonderful behaviour during carpet times and when he is walking around the school. His class say that he is a wonderful role model.

Respect, Consideration and Patience are such important values that will help Jack greatly at The Downley School and in the future.

We are all very proud of Jack for demonstrating the important Values of Respect, Consideration and Patience.

Lola

who was nominated by her whole class for showing

KINDNESS and DETERMINATION

Lola was very kind and helpful when Mrs Barlow was unwell and the class had different teachers. Lola also worked hard in all of her lessons.

Kindness and Determination are such important values that will help Lola greatly at The Downley School and in the future.

Charlotte

who was nominated by Holly and Aditi for showing

FRIENDSHIP and POSITIVITY

Charlotte demonstrates these values by always being jolly and making her friends feel that everything is going to be OK. Holly and Aditi explained how Charlotte always makes them laugh because of her bubbly personality.

Positivity is so important in life and I am sure it will help Charlotte greatly at The Downley School and in the future.

We are all very proud of Charlotte for demonstrating the important Values of Friendship and Positivity. This will help her greatly in school and beyond.

Lily

who was nominated by her whole class for showing

RESPONSIBILITY

Lily was nominated by her class for showing the school value of Responsibility by being an excellent role model. Lily has also shown Determination by not letting her broken arm stop her from doing anything. Finally, Lily has shown Confidence this year when speaking to her new teachers.

We are all very proud of Lily for demonstrating the important Values of Responsibility, Determination and Confidence. This will help her greatly in the future.Well done!

Mia

who was nominated by Poppy for showing

FRIENDSHIP

Mia was nominated by Poppy for showing the school value of Friendship. Mia demonstrated this value by making Poppy a lovely card when Poppy had knocked her tooth out. This really cheered Poppy up as she was very worried about getting a plate.

We are all very proud of Mia for demonstrating our Values and being a kind and considerate friend.Well done!

Martha was nominated by Finn for making him feel better and caring for him when he was unwell.

Mia was nominated by Faye for respecting the school and the environment and picking up litter inside and around the school.

Emily was nominated by Kiera for showing the school value of Determination. Despite not feeling very well Emily showed determination and still came in to school with a smile.

We are all very proud of Emily for demonstrating our Values. Determiniation is so important in life.Well done!

Foye was nominated by Poppy for showing the school value of Kindness. He demonstrated this value by supporting Poppy when she badly hurt her foot during the cross country.

Jeevan

who was nominated by the whole class of 2GF for showing

PATIENCE

Jeevan was nominated by all of 2GF for showing the school value of Patience. He demonstrated this value by “waiting patiently for his Christmas Dinner and for the school disco”. Jeevan was also credited for showing many other values too such as kindness, confidence and determination!

PATIENCE

Farah was nominated by Rachael for showing the school value of Patience. She demonstrated this value by “waiting patiently to find out which job she would have.”

What a super demonstration of our Values. Well done!

Archie

who was nominated by the whole class of 2B for showing

DETERMINATION

Archie was nominated by all of 2B for showing the school values of Determination and Confidence. He demonstrated these values by “practising his dance moves for the Tea Dance and working really hard to get it right.” He was also nominated for showing the value of Kindness. After being nominated himself Archie said that he was proud of his dance partner Emi and thought she should be nominated too for all her efforts.

What a wonderful demonstration of our Values.Well done!

DETERMINATION

Klara showed the school value of Determination. She demonstrated this value by “having a go at It’s a Knock Out even when she was really nervous”.

Determination is so important in life. Well done!

Sarah was nominated by her whole class as demonstrated the value of confidence by making lots of new friends, going up in assembly and volunteering to be the school councillor.

Sarah was nominated by Amreen for showing the value of confidence. Amreen described how Sarah arrived at The Downley Schhol and displayed great self belief by settling in really well to her new school.

SELF-CONTROL

They were nominated by Finn for showing the value of self-control. Finn described how they showed self-control by not telling anyone what the new Wake and Shake song was going to be.

Josh was nominated by Rico for showing the value of kindness. Ricodescribed how Josh always showed kindness by playing with him at break times. Rico stated that "I really feel like I have a true friend!"

Chloe was nominated by Amreen for showing the value of courage. Amreen described how Chloe showed courage because even though she hurt her foot she had the courage to try and walk!

Josh was nominated by Joe for demonstrating our values.Joe described how Josh showed kindness and friendship when helping Rico in cross country when he could have got a quicker time by running by himself.

Muneeba found a 'Golden Ticket' worth £3.00.

She tried to find out who had lost it and when she couldn't, she handed it into Mrs Hadaway.

She encouraged her friends not to talk about a special event they had been to because another member of the friendship group had not been and she didn't want her to feel left out.
