Special Educational Needs and Disabilities

The Downley School welcomes pupils with disabilities or learning difficulties for whom we are deemed to be the most appropriate school. Where necessary the curriculum content and delivery is adapted to make it fully accessible.  All parts of the school are fully accessible to wheelchair users as we have disabled toilet, showering and changing facilities and access to the upper floor via a lift and ramps. We also have modifications and resources which support children with visual impairments.  

The Downley School follows the guidance of the SEND Code of Practice 2014 and Buckinghamshire Guidelines which uses a graduated approach to the identification, assessment and provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
