World Peace Day in Year 2.

Friday 21st September was World Peace Day.

In 2MG we created a "peace banner," made from our individual pictures representing peace, such as hearts, doves, olive branches and rainbows. We put them all together to spell out the word "peace."

2G worked with a visiting artist to make a "peace garden." We each created and decorated our own butterfly and flower from crepe paper and paint. We helped to design the garden incorporating a plant, sand and a lake. We created a poem for the garden and the reflective lake: "Look in the pool and you will see who can bring peace to you and me." We are going to keep our peace garden in our classroom and we will use it as a calming place which will help us to feel peaceful on a busy day!
